Mother

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. (1 Thessalonians 4:13)

When the Lord recently called our mother home we experienced many parallel emotions. While we suffered a great loss we knew that she experienced a higher gain. Even as we mourned we could celebrate her unfathomable joy in His presence. We miss our mother but rejoice that God has ended her suffering and though the separation is real it is only temporary. We thank the Lord for giving to us our special mother and then taking her safely home. Indeed we have a certain hope that when in His presence we shall see her again.
- George Ferrier

We shall meet to part no more, some bright golden morning,
At the gates of glory where our loved ones stand;
Songs of vict'ry fill the skies in that hour of greeting,
Endless days, endless praise, when we see His face.
